Records Officer's Report to Cmdr. Robert Yeomsley

Stardate 57772.7

The first log provided a grim picture of an attack on the USS Asphodel by some ethereal, unknown entity. The log entry itself is over three years old at this point, but it is not the latest log in the system. Despite the fears of Captain Simmons, there were still others who at least survived the initial attack by this creature.

We have a limited staff on Deep Space D-9. One of the cargo bays has been converted into a makeshift morgue, and the only doctor on the station, Dr. Struther, has been conducting autopsies since the bodies were brought in from the Asphodel. Her determination so far matches with the accounts by Captain Simmons, and the victims died in horrific, brutal fashion. Some had their limbs twisted well past their limits. Others died in hand-to-hand conflict with one another. One body was found with its skin almost entirely ripped off. The DNA matches that of Ensign Antonia Ramirez.

We have yet to obtain the scans of the entity in question. Until the engineering and repair crews find it, we have little to go on as to identifying the creature.

Recommend contacting Starfleet for additional resources, especially medical personnel to assist with the autopsies.
